Guess The Nose

Round one
Round Two
Round Three

Production Meeting Reflection Four

This week the main task that I had to complete were developing the graphics power point synced with the master script. To make the power point it took me two whole lessons to complete because at that time the master script was not completed and I need each shot number for the graphics. Once the master script was done and the power point was completed I then developed the logo how Jada and Jasmeet wanted it because the first draft didn't have the logo for 5 seconds at the end once I added the logo in I then re synced the introduction with a song. Dan Croll - From Nowhere (baardsen remix). Once the introduction was synced I then uploaded the introduction to YouTube so for the reflection meeting I can show the class. On Fridays lesson i downloaded the final introduction for Farhana to import in to the V's i also decided to make the guess the nose props as the set designer was ill. In this week the only part that didn't go well was rendering the right format for the introduction that would go on the Mac because i first tried mp4 and for some reason the mac wouldn't play it so I then spoke to my teacher and we both agreed to put the introduction on youtube and then download it.

Production Meeting Reflection Three

Within this week my task was to make a introduction that would play right at the start of the show for 15 seconds. The introduction was the main task for the week so I decided to develop three diffrent templates to pick from The first template was yellow paint in 3D clashing and turning around 360 degrees then to drop down to the text "The Beat". The seconds introduction was the same but instead of  black background i put a purple overlay on it to match the shows colour scheme. The third introduction was more random than the others because instead of paint splatters it looked more like blood drops so we discarded the idea.

This week has particularly been very successful because I made the introduction within two lessons and then started on the twitter overlay that will come up n the VT's. The introductions have been very successfully because the directer pitched a idea of paint splatter on text and i did that but developed the idea more to make it look more professional than stranded work.

All that I need to change or develop change with the introduction is by adding on 4 more seconds to go with the running order by adding the the 4 seconds i would have to add the logo in to the introduction so to do this i would need to take the text layer off and save the paint platters as a diffrent JPEG image and import both the text manually and the import that image of the paint. I will also have to animate the text "the beat" how the director initially wanted it.

Next week I intend to complete the twitter overlay and import them on to the pre recoded video. I will also be talking to the director on all the other graphics i need to do for example the names of the presenters when they come on the stage and I also will be starting the power point once all the graphics are done.

Within this week I worked with both roles above me on the hierarchy table the first person i worked with was the Director Jasmeet she pitched the idea of the twitter idea and then i created most of it and then we decided on the range of tweets and how they are going to be shown. I also worked with Farhana the VT operator i helped her with recording for "street beat" i also helped her with editing apart from that i thick we worked well because we fished nearly all of the task for the next 2 weeks

Production Meeting Reflection Two

In this week we all started our job roles as a class and worked together to get the best possible out come for the week. My role as a Graphics Designer was to develop a draft of the logo with in the week and to have the logo completed before anyone completed there documentation. I first created a draft of the logo in black and white as the director Jasmeet and Jada was not sure about the colors we wanted because for the green screen we were not aloud to used black or blue and in the initial logo that Jada and made the logo was blue and black.
The groups response to the logo was good because it was bold and vibrant and we wanted the logo to stand out. As a whole we did find it hard to find a scheme that we all liked so when creating the logos shown in the  i would only change the paint splatter and the colour of the text and make five drafts as shown in the Documentation post on this blog.
For my role as the Graphics designer the most successful task has been crating the logo 2 prier to the dead line and crafting a logo that we all liked.
The one issue i currently that we have decided on is the font i think the font that we used "IMPACT" was abit over used for graphics general apart from that everything is fine.
Next week i intend to work on three draft's of the intro that i will develop which will last between 10-11 seconds i also will be working on a outro and a twitter feed in my own time and on my personal computer.
With in this week i mostly worked with my self apart from getting itched the idea of the logo by the director and then pitching the logo's i have made to every one else. I think i worked well with the Director Jasmeet quite well because prier to the dead line on Friday i made the logo for Wednesday. Apart from that me working with the director was effective because we got the logo done and the colour scheme picked for the whole show. With the draft i wanted to show that there's were more than one option and that other things can be created but still linked to the idea of paint splatters i also wanted to show my own talent in creating introductions on sony vages

Production Documentation Graphics Generator

My role with in the whole multi camera production is to create the graphics for the show. I have made a rough copy of what the initial ideas are for the logo that the Director Jasmeet wanted for the show. The paint of the logo was the show the paint splatters i have decided to pick two paint splatters because there are two different words one splatter of one of the words. Currently we are decided on the colors of the splatter because be cant use black or blue. This current design of the logo would be on the VT in the top right or left of the corner. At the moment we are also discussing the font that we will use on the logo. In school time we are working on the logo on Photoshop and at home im working on the 10 second intro on Sony Vegas because we don't have the software at school .
Logo one

Logo two

Logo three

Logo four
Logo five
After discussing the Logo with every one in a "What's app" group we finally decided that the color scheme will be yellow and purple and the logo we have chosen is logo five

Production Meeting Reflection one

Today was the first group meeting we had about the production its self. We spoke about what the group liked about our own idea. The group liked my idea but the logo could have been more clear on to what the show is based on. The show name was MUSE-ology the group also liked the game show i had though of as it had childhood games such as truth or dear linked to it.

The idea we had chosen to pick was Jada's. The name of the show is call "The Beat" we also decided to pick Jada's idea because it was well though about and the running order made the most sense. I voted for Jada's idea because it was the idea that i liked the most but of course there would be some part that would not stand out to a male audience.

The first aspect i liked about Jada's idea was she started the show of with something fun and something the audience would laugh about also there is audience participation with the "who the hell tweeted that". However apart from Jada's idea i also liked Prinals idea. With Prinals idea the part that stood out to me was what i though was his unique selling point the 30 seconds introduction of the set being built i feel as if we could have done that as it would be a pre recorded clip but i think that people also though that it couldn't be done within 30 seconds. Another aspect i liked about Jada's pitch was the logo i thing that her logo would stand out to the crowd and attract other target audience's not just between 14 and 20 years of age i also thing that the logo is easy to adapt on because it simple but gets the point across. The colour scheme in the logo was good because the white contrast with the black text and the blue paint splatters

other aspects that i think would do well in the actual show its self was Taylor's idea of a Q and A question and answers provided by the audience. I liked this idea because not a lot of shows just have interviews like Alan Carr chatty man hardly has any audience participation so i think having he Q and A would be a good idea to get the audience involved.

Multi Camera Show pitch

MUSE-ology

MUSE-ology is the name i have decided on to pick for my multi camera production. the definition for muse is one of the greek myths the god of music love child with a human. i had chosen Muse because one it sounds good for a show and the meaning of the child of music makes scene for the music magazine show that will be produced. The definition for Ology is  subject of study; a branch of knowledge.

((Definition source provided by Google dictionary))

The scenario for this multi camera production is to make a magazine show with professional standers. One of the key aims that we have to do is to incorporate all the job roles needed to make a magazine show (job roles in the previous blog post).

The magazine show would be broadcaster on E4 and must need the watershed with the content and also meet the target audience of the music videos that we had developed in a previous protect. the information below is the plan for the magazine show MUSE-ology. This is just a pitch and not the actual protect.

Title Of The Show

I have chosen MUSE-ology as the title of the show because i personally think that the title needs to be one of the main aspects to attract some one to the show. One of the other reasons i have decided on this name is because its a different name for show not a lot of shows add Greek mythology to the title and i think its unique. Muse is a work know for the love child of the good of music. i also decided to add "ology" to the end so its got more of a edge to it than other names. the title must also be appropriate for the watershed if broadcast before 9:00pm.

Running order

When my program is being shown it first starts with a Video of whats to come on the show so its more like a preview e.g. the video would show the guests and a clip of their recent project that they took part in to be on the magazine show. As this project is based on a previous project that we had done in class.. Show will be lasting for 30 minuets which include graphics videos and the interviews.

  1. Vt will be played for the first 15 seconds
  2. for the next 15 seconds it would cut to the presenter telling you whats coming up
  3. Graphics would then be played by the VT operator for the next 30 seconds
  4. After the introduction is shown, It then cuts back to the presenter talking to the audience about the show for the next 30 seconds
  5. Once the presenter talks to the audience and welcoming them to the show. The presenter then does an introduction for the next guest saying why they are here on the show and what the recent project was for them. 1 minute
  6. After the presenter gives the introduction it then cuts to another VT made just for the guest from the recent project that would be the main topic of conversation 15 seconds
  7. The after the VT is shown the presenter says "please welcome the guest name" then the sound operator plays the clapping sound for the guest to walk out to and greets the presenter. Also the presenter will show the guest were to take their seat as they will stay on set for the other interviews 45 seconds
  8. Once the guest has taken their seat the presenter asks how have they been. This 1 minute is just the presenter and the guest talking to each other about how they have been and what they have been up to
  9. Once they have done the introduction to them self's the real interview starts about the music video that was crated this would last for 5 minute
  10. After the advert is over the presenter then does a brief introduction to the next guest 15 seconds
  11. After the the presenter gives the introduction the VT operator players a video that would last 15 seconds about the guest
  12. Once the video is over the guest would walk in and an over lay for the guest would come up showing their name the guest would also talk to the presenter asking how they are and having a normal greeting this would last for 15 seconds
  13. After the guest has taken there seat next to the previous guest on the sofa the interview would begin for another 5 minutes like the other interview
  14. After the interview is over for a VT plays for 1 minute showing the music video that the guest was involved with
  15. The presenter would then carry on the interview for another 2 minutes for the next guest to get ready to come on when told by the floor manager
  16. once the guest is told the guest then walk to the stage and greets the presenter asking them how they are. this would last for 30 seconds
  17. Once the guest has entered the stage the interview starts and last for 5 minutes
  18. After the interview is over the presenter then explains the rules of the game show and what they have to do to score a point and what they would win. 2 Minutes
  19. the game would last for 5 minutes, the guest will have to guess a blurred question and then they would have to pick a truth or dear to score an extra 2 points dear scores 3 additional points truth scores 2 additional points
  20. after the game show is done the presenter thanks the audience for coming and thank the views for watching the presenter also thanks the guests for coming on the show. this would last for 1 minute
  21. credits would last for 30 seconds
Studio design and Background

This background is for the start of the introduction when the presenter introduce whats going to happen on the show and who will be on the show. This background will also be on the set through out the production on a green screen. i wanted this wallpaper to the main image the audience see because it relates the concept of the production about music and they are the main actors in the music video produced .

Design 1 - layout

This is the design i have decided on i based the set up more toward Top Gear when the place a star in a reasonable price car. As you can see camera 2 would be focused highly on the presenter to ensure communication with the audience but doing close ups. Camera 1 would be on both the presenter and guests to add in more of a friendly vibe to the show also if the guest says something funny you could get all of the people's reaction with a long shot. Camera three is for the guest seat's this would allow close up's to the presenter and it would also make it seem like the guests are talking to the viewers at home to make it seem like they are actually on the set

Design 2- Backstage

This backstage design is for the presenter to introduce the guest that they will be interviewing next. The backstage set will be on show to the audience when the presenter welcomes the viewers to the show before the introduction come on. There will only be one camera for backstage because when before showing the guest in the introduction the VT operator would cut back to the presenter so the camera person has enough time to set up a close up of the guest.

Content and ideas
Below i will explain my ideas for the show.
For content and ideas we have to have pre recorded content that would involve the audience.

First idea is, When having the interview with each guest the audience are allowed to ask three question to the guest about the music video or about them self. The guest has to reply to all the question with out any hesitation

Second idea is, The game show would consist of three buzzers and six people this does not included the presenter. The aim of the game is to guest the celebrity behind the blurred effect if they get the image write they answer a truth but if the answer the question wrong the have to do a dare. The presenter would then pick a audience member at random to tell the guest their dare

Third idea is, During all three interview the guest would ask the audience questions as a whole to prove a point to the presenter and also to be funny as the target audience is 14-20 you don't want the show to be boring and to drag on

When the guest come on the show i would like them to wear smart clothing like they would to a red carpet. I want the guest to look classier and not seem like another magazine show that is for mostly teenagers when the target audience is for 14-20 years old. i have also chosen this dress code because i want the magazine show to stand out to other age groups as well. i have taken inspiration from Allan Carr Chatty Man because the show is like any other magazine show but the show stands out more to the audience because it means they put more effort in to producing the show.

visual style

Program formatting

7:00- 7:05
In the first five minutes of the show would be the presenter telling the audience whats coming up on the show once the presenter has welcomed the audience to the show the presenter then introduces the guests and a shot 10 second video plays showing their latest project that they had taken part in for them to be on the show.
7:05-7:11
The first guest has been introduced and the video has been played. The starts from Ride Or Die come on the stage. They walk on to the stage from backstage then greet the presenter with a hug or a handshake also when they enter the person who has the sound mixer role will have to play the pre recorded clapping of the audience. Once the guest are seated the interview starts. At 7:10- 7:12 the presenter have a open window to pick an audience member to ask the guest questions in that open window the guest has 30 seconds to answer the question
7:12- 7:17
first at 7:12 the presenter would introduce the next guest by playing a video clip of the music video of Lockdown. Once the video clip has lasted for about 10 seconds the camera cuts to the backstage camera showing the guest walking towards the stage .Once the guests are on the stage they greet the presenter and take their seat on the sofa. The first question asked will be towards the audience asking if the enjoyed the preview. Once the presenter asked the question, The interview will begin on how they came up with the idea of the music video and what was there inspiration towards he lyrics. The final question of the interview should be asked at 7:16 if the question is asked then the presenter would have enough time to pick a member from the audience to ask a question to the guest.
7:17-7:23
Once the next guest is introduced the video clip from the music video Secrets is played for 10 seconds the guest walk on to stage from backstage. After the camera cuts back to the main camera on the design layout camera 2 the presenter would greet the guest the same way as the other guests with a hug or handshake. The presenter then has four minutes to ask what questions they want to about the music video and how they came up with the idea. After the four minutes is up the presenter then has to pick some one at random to ask the guest a question in a 1 minutes open window the reply from the guest has to be within the minute.
7:23- 7:28
The game that the guest will take part in are introduced. The teams will be the starts of the music video.
Team red: Jasmeet and Prinal plus a guest picked by team captain
Team blue: Jada, Taylor and Antony plus a guest picked by team captain
Team green: Kaval and Thajeethan plus a guest picked by team captain

Once the presenter introduces the teams the presenter then start the game where the teams have to guess the star behind the blurred effect on the image however if they get the image right the have an opportunity to add 2 additional points or 3 additional point a truthfully answers question would give them 2 point but the guest picked by the captain would ask the question and to earn three points one of the team members have to do a dare asked by a person picked from random in the audience. What ever team scores 10 points first or the team with the highest amount of points after 5 minutes is the victor and the team is awarded with a plastic medal and a £500 gift card for the guest on the team from the audience.

7:28-7:30
the presenter closes the show and thank the people for watching and thanks the people that came to the show. At 7:29:30 the credits will then show up on the screen.

Multi Camera Job Roles

In a multi camera television production there are 10 main jobs. The ten roles are important to the production as if one of the roles were not included in the production the production would not be as fluent and not be to plain. For example if there was no sound mixer the directer would not know if every ones microphones were working and at a sufficient volume level because you don't want them to be to loud and also you don't want then to be to quiet.

The 10 roles are stated below.

  • Camera Operator
  • Sound Mixing
  • Directing
  • Set Designer
  • Lighting Desk
  • Floor Manager
  • Graphics Generation
  • VT Operator
  • Presenter
If you were to make a multi camera production with one of the roles missing the production would be slowed of time and would not flow as well if a production had all ten roles ready in time. For example the VT Operator before playing the video that they were meant to play became corrupted the VT Operator would have to fix the problem and export the file again. With multi camera production everything has to go to plain but unfortunately something would always come up to a presenter getting ill to a sound mixer getting stuck in traffic a production to this scale can be unpredictable.

Camera Operator
A camera operator is second most important job role in the hierarchy below the director and above the vision manager, sound mixer and lighting desk. As second in command of the production the camera operator follows a shooting script provided by the director. The shooting script gives orders from the director telling the operator were he/she want the camera to be placed and at what angle. The camera operators are second in command because the amount of pressure they have and they don't snap under the pressure this means that the camera operator has to have a steady hand and can maintain focus through out the- filming processes.

Skill's a camera operator must have:

  • one of the skill you need to become a camera operator is to know were to place the camera. This would allow the camera operator to be creative with the shots needed to the production allows freedom between the camera operator and director Even though the camera operator has to follow a shooting script from the director the camera operator can also decided on whats the best shot for the scene. Placing the camera for a certain scene can be hard because they have to have the right lighting and the right shot.
  • In the hierarchy the lighting desk is under the camera operator because they have to work together for the shot and to get the best out come with the light. Another skill for a camera operator is good communication with others in the work space. This would allow team work to work much better and simply the workers can get along. Having good communication skill can help put a point across to theirs views to people below the camera operator in the hierarchy. This would also allow you to work as a team to get better shots for the production.
  • Another skill used to be a camera operator must have a steady hand. This is one of the most important skills for a camera operator. If the current camera operator did not have a steady hand the shots taken would be shaking and not look good.
Duties a camera operator must do:
  • One of the main duties a camera operator must do is to arrive on set on time and not be late. If the camera operator is late to film that means the whole production for the day would be behind schedule and as the production would be live the timing of the live production would be set back awaiting on one person plus the viewers watching would not be pleased and they would get put of the live show because the camera operator was 2 minuets late.
  • A camera operator must make sure that all the equipment is at hand and on location of were the production is taking place. If any of the equipment was missing this would mean that production would get set back and it may prevent the production going live
  • Camera operators must learn and remember the scooting script. Camera operators must do this because as its a live show they need to know were to place the camera and the type of shot the are filming because if they didn't know the order of the shots they would keep asking the director and you would be able to hear it if there is a mic connected to the camera when doing interviews in game shows such as total wipe-out.

Sound Mixing

The sound mixer associated with the multi-camera has a responsibility of recording all the sounds that they will be using in the production before it goes live on air, Their job is also to make sure they have the right sounds for the live day and in the correct order to be played live .

Skills:

  • One of the main skills a sound mixer must have is to be able to use and operate the mixer to an extent were there wont be any fault when going live. Its simple if the sound mixer does not know how to use the mixer theirs no point of being allocated to that job in the multi camera production because if they were on the team as a sound mixer the whole production would suffer because they don't know how to use the equipment.
  •  The sound mixer must know how to record and play sounds from the mixer this is the only person controlling the sound mixer is in control in how fluent the vocals sound are and how the guest and presenter sound and how their volumes are for example the sound mixer operator must be able o increase the volume of the guest if the sound to quiet this is because so the audience can hear the interview clearly and it makes it sound better.
  • The soul sound mixer operator must know all the safety rules and follow all the regulations if there is an emergence with the equipment. If there was a fault in the mixer the sound operator must be able to fix it
Duties:
  • A sound mixer must be on time to the location with all the right equipment not forgetting nothing. If a sound mixer comes late to the location if can slow down the production rate and every one would be wait to go live on air.
  • The sound mixer must be able to understand a shooting script because the shooting script would till the sound mixer when they should play the sound turn the sound of and the volumes of the people talking.
Directing

The directors role is the most important out of all the roles. A director must know whats going on at all times they need to know what the problem is if there is any and they must be able to keep he or her cool during the production. The director is at the top of the hierarchy so what ever he or she says goes.

Skills:
  • One of the key skills a director must have is good listening and communication skills. This is because the director will have to talk to every person on the production team during the day people like the camera operator would give there idea on where the camera should be place this means that the director must listen to every one opinion and take it to count.
  • A director must be able to keep calm during the hardships of the production. This is because every one would be looking at the director and they have to be setting a example of not panicking if everything goes wrong.
  •  Another skill a director must have is marketing skills and financial skills. This is because they need to have a set budget to stick to during the multiply live shows. They would also have to make pitches to get funds for the production.
Duties:
  • A director must make sure that every thing goes to plain this is because if the production did not go to plain and went lie late it would earn allot of criticism and the view would decrees dramatically.
  • A director must be on time or come to the set before everyone else as the role of the director is at the top of the hierarchy the director should set an example and nit turn up late if he or she was to turn up late the production would be set back and questions can not be asked
  • A director must have good knowledge of the shooting script in hand. This is because he or she would know when to cue the light play the VT and play the graphics the director should also keep up on what scene is next as if the guest on the chat show had forgotten the guest can find out.
Set designer
A set designer is the soul person in of the layout of the set and how it looks, They decide on what thing the stage would include for exsample a television a table and even a sofa.

Skills:

  • A set designer must be able to draw not just rough sketches but in detail drawings. This is because as a set designer you are in charge on how it looks and you want it to look nice because that’s what an audience would be looking at the start of the show like chat shows. Before you create the  set you have to also be able to create blue prints and measure all the lengths and sizes they want the walls and props to be around.
  • A set designer must have a good eye for color. They must have a good eye because the appearance means everything typically you would want color to stand out but too much that it draws you away from the presenter and guests. You would also need to know what colors contrast and what color don’t. As the set designer is working with a lot of props with different colors they should be color coded so that its ease to identify.
  • They must know how to use tools to put objects together. This is because if and object needs to be fixed you can always do it and not pay someone else to do it. Another skill that a set designer should be able to do is calculate the cost for each prop for financial reasons. This is because the set designer will be given a budget but the director and after they get one prop they always have to calculate how much money they have left and how much would return to the director.
Duties:
  • Before the live production takes place the set designer needs to make sure that that everything should be in place and working and in the right angle for example if the lights need to be placed on the set which I hilly doubt would happened the set designer would resolve the issue and place them on the set at the right angle and out of shots.
  • As of every other job role you have to be on time to the location or possibly come early than everyone else to make adjustment to the set before you go live on air
  • Another duty a set designer must do is bringing tools to work with if the production can’t provide you with some. This is because the production may be on a tight budget and can’t afford to provide you with tools to use
Lighting desk

The lighting desk is one of the most important job roles in the production that’s why they are placed third in the hierarchy. The lighting desk works closely with the director and the camera operator. The lighting desk is in charge of the appearance of the lights for example in game shows such as the Cube when they don’t complete the obstacle the lighting goes red it show in the tension of the audience and the person taking part.

Skills:

  • One of the main skills a lighting operator must have is to be able to use the equipment provided by the director. This is because the equipment divine would control all of the lights if wired to the board correctly. They must also have knowledge of how the equipment can be fixed if anything goes wrong.

  • Another skill that a light desk operator must be able to do identify a situation and the mood. This is a key skill because as the production is live the light desk manager should be able it analyse the mood and match the lights to set the mood that wants to be shown for example a game show such as the cube when the person fails the task the lights go down to red because the person is angry that they failed when they should have passed.

  • Another skill that the light desk manger must obtain is to be able to fix the equipment. If anything goes wrong with the equipment it’s the soul responsibility for the lighting desk to fix the problem so that the show can carry on.

Duties

  • One of the main duty that a lighting desk must do is to have knowledge of the shooting script. This is because they wont have to keep asking the director what to do next and because its live anything can happen during the performance
  • Another duty that a lighting desk operator must do it know the safety rules and regulations when controlling the lights on the equipment for example they can bring no food or drinks next to it because if the drink slips on the equipment you have no lights

Floor Manager

The floor manager is in control of the set while filming the live production. You could say they are the directors second hand man or woman but in the hierarchy they are not n the top three. The floor gives instruction given by the director to the camera operator and presenters with out speaking.

Skills:

  • A floor manager must be able to communicate with out speaking a word. This is an important skill that a floor manager mush have because as the production is live other are not there to be heard apart from the guest and presenters in a chat show. for example before they go on air the floor manager does a count down for the presenter to welcome the audience to the show. That is the same for the guest went they enter the stage
  • Another skill that the floor manager must be able to do is to communicate with others as the floor manager takes orders from the director the floor manager must be able to in force the instructions given
  • Another skill that a floor manager must have is to in force rules given by the director and the floor manager must be well behaved and know what they are doing at all times.
Duties
  • one of the main duties a floor manager must do is arrive on set in time or before every one else to see if everything is in the right place
  • they must be able to follow rules and not to show any weakness because if no one thinks of the floor manager seriously they would be a push over and no one would listen
  • Another duty a floor manager has to do is listen to every thing the director says to you. This is because the floor manager would be telling the other people doing the other roles.

Graphics Generation
The graphics generator is the person that creates graphics that will be shown on the screen at home. This includes working with the VT operator when editing the graphics. this also means the graphics generator is the person that makes the overlays for were people's name goes when getting introduced this also means that the graphics generator develops a introduction to the show and an outro

Skills
  • A graphics generator must be able to use software to an high enough standers were they would produce out standing work that would catch people eye. This is because if you chose a graphics generator that only knows how to mask on Photoshop and that it all the graphics would to plain and simple editing it for one single effect.
  • Another skill that a graphic generator must do is to be able to adapt to new software styles and a completely new software to them. This is because as you would be working very closely to the director he/she may want something that the current soft ware your using may not offer
  • Another skill that a graphics designer must know how to do is to add custom fonts in to the operating system and to be able to do high quality animation
Duties
  • one of the main duties for a graphics generator is to develop graphics with a high stranded on time for the show and can be edited by the VT operator. this is because the director does not want to be waiting around for the graphics that should of been done before
  • Another duty for a graphics generator is to be responsible and reliable. this is because the director needs someone that they can relies on and know they will perform to their best ability. They also want someone that would take responsibility for their work and if its not done in time the would want the graphics generator to came there responsibility for not producing the graphics in time
  • A graphics generate should meet deadline and be punctual at all means. This means that the graphics generator must complete the graphics prototype one before 2 -3 weeks before going live. This is because if the director did not like the first versions the graphic generator always has time to make more.

VT Operator
A VT Operator is the soul person in charge of the editing of the graphics if it runs on for to long also the VT Operator is the person that plays the graphics and videos when needing in the live production. A VT Operator also the person that will be putting videos together so that they flow when being shown on the screen live.

Skills
  • A VT Operator should be able to edit at a good enough standard to be shown live on air. This is because if a video needs to be cut down the VT Operator can do that with out any hassle. A VT operate must have knowledge of the editing software such and final cut pro or express and i movie . This is because the vt operator would be he should person getting clips ready for when they do live for example when the interview a guest on a game show the tend so do a clip on why they want to win and what it means to them
  • Another skill the VToperator must have is good communication with others. This is because the VT Operator would be working closely with other such as the graphics generator. This also means that the VT operator would be getting there point across to others and to the director
Duties
  • one of the main duty's that would make a VT Operator stand out is to learn now methods on editing to make a better final production. This is because the director would always want way to make the production easier and better
  • Another duty that a VT operator has to be or do is, to be reliable because the VT Operator would be the should person handling all the tapes and footage. This also colludes with the graphics generator as they would penitently be working together trough out the production and even post production
Presenter
A is the least important role in the hierarchy and is working closely with the director camera operator vt operator and the floor manager. A presenter is a role that some one takes upon them self's the be the host of the production.

Skills
  • One on the key skills a presenter must have is to be able to stay in front of a camera and feel comfortable. This is because because theirs no point of having a presenter that is camera shy because they are going to be in nearly all the shots. Also the presenter has to be conformable during the air because you can tell if theirs tension building up during the products and the views may decreases because people may think it was a cheep product
  • One of the other skills that a presenter has to do is to be able to stumble when their under pressure. This means that the presenter has to confident with their performance and be able to be put under pressure but not crumble because all eyes would be on them.
  • Another skill that the presenter must have is to be able to communicate with good English with guests if its a char show. The presenter should also be at good listening and can have a full conversation with out any hesitation
Duties

  • The present must have good knowledge and understanding the communication between the presenter and guest. This is because the presenter should have knowledge of who the guest is going to be and what they do for a living also what the guest had done in the past.
  • The presenter has also got a duty to do research. This research is reverent because this is were the presenter would think about the question's that are going to ask and what they want them to do for the interview
  • Another duty that the presenter has is to always be on time. as the presenter is going to be in front of the camera they want him or her to look their best so they have to do "hair and make up" they also have to keep going over the shooting script to know the order of the show

Multi Camera Aesthetic and Practical

What is Multi Camera?
Multi camera is when there is a range of different cameras in different angles to capture one shot for the scene. Multi camera set ups are used in film making and video productions they use several cameras to film a shot from different angles.  If there are two people in the shot there would be a close up of both of the actors with different cameras then there would be a camera set up for both of the actors to be in the shot and also two different cameras set up to have a long shot or mid shot of the actors. Multi camera is used for three different live events sports, concerts and public events. Multi camera work is also used in studio production game shows, chart shows and magazine shows.

Sports:

Cam 1
Sports such as WWE RAW have to use multi camera because WWE RAW is filmed live in different arenas every work. One of the main reasons they use multi cam is the audience participation nearly every shot in the clip had the audience in it when Daniel Bryan started to beat Bray Wyatt they put the audience in the shot because of the audience participation chanting “YES” sticking with the audience when Bray Wyatt went on the counter attack the camera on the carnies showed the audience and there reaction when he took the beating from Daniel Bryan but still stood up. In the audience you could see how shocked they were. With multi camera events such as this they tend to use more than three cameras. One camera would be on the crane above the audience the second camera would be on Daniel Brayan and the third camera would be on Bray Wyatt and the fourth camera would be both of them as you see in the clip.

Cam 3

As you can see right from the start there have been two different camera angles used one of a mid show of both of the men in the ring and then at 0:07 a close up of Daniel bryan. After the close up it goes back to the other camera that was showing both men then it goes back to the camera that had the close up but at a different angle 0:13. After that shot it goes back to the shot of the men in the ring then  a new camera is introduced the camera on the cairn for the audience is used to get a close up of Bray's facial expression at 0:16 Then that same camera would be on the audience in count filming a sports event such as WWE consist of three different cameras they do this practical and aesthetic reasons.
Practical reason. they do this to capture more of the coverage of the fighter in the ring and the also use this contrast between a studio environment and and live audience that can interact with them such as the "yes" chant
Aesthetic reasons the do this to maintain viewer interest switch between the cameras and close up to paint the story and the also do this to communicate with the audience views the fight

Concerts:

Cam 2
Cam 3
Concerts such as Tomorrow land 2010 Swedish House Mafia use a range of cameras in different angles on the stage in the shot also the shots of audience reaction and shot of the amount of people that turned up to the concert. In this clip I counted five different cameras placed in different angles to capture the different shot's to make the video. camera one was on the audience for about 45 degrees to show the amount of people at 0:27. The second camera used  was a long shot of both the audience and the stage at 0:40. Then the third camera used was on the group it self at 0:42. And the forth camera used was close up of audience members at  7:52 and the final camera used was in the audience looking at both the people and the fireworks at 9:19. As you can see right from the start they start of the first camera of the long zooming in to the grope on the stage of the audience then it switches to show the amount of people that turned up to the event. Using multi camera for concerts have both practical reasons and aesthetic reasons. Practical reasons the Visual style and mode of address the wanted the get across to the audience watch that the atmosphere would effect on how you view the content and maintaining the view interest because if the just used one camera and it was of the three DJ's at the front it would be a bit boring to watch and people would give up on it

Public Events:

Cam 1
Cam 2
Public Events such as Marvel's The Avenger's Red Carpet would use multi camera because the have One camera on the fan another on the actors that follow them and one on the presenters. However the Avengers had four cameras used for the final product the first camera was on the presenters the 2nd camera was on the cairn "so you don't miss anything" the third camera was on the actors and the last and forth camera was on the fans getting there reaction when they see actors such as Scarlett Johansson. Camera one was used at 11:49. Camera two was used at 11:06. Camera three was used at 10:26 getting the fans reactions. And the last and forth camera was used at 37:40 when the interview was taking place. the main camera's used in the production was the forth camera that would film the interviews of the cast and the guest and the second camera that was used the most was the camera on the audience as they played a big part to the event. There are both aesthetic and practical reasons that would benefit using multi camera productions
practical reasons to use multi camera are that Multi camera simultaneous because a event like the red carpet anything can happen and it an be a spontaneous event the practical reason is to contrast between a studio audience and a live audience the atmosphere would be different because anything can happen.
The aesthetic reasons are communication meaning to the viewers the presents talk to the audience about whats going to happen in the event and also the actors them self talk to them the other reason is the coverage of action as i said before anything can happen in a live event when its public.

Chat Shows:

Chat shows such as The Graham Nortan Show use multi camera to film the show because it would be easier to have one camera on the presenter and another of the people getting interviewed. Watch this clip i counted three different cameras being used. The first camera used in the production is on the presenter then the second camera that I counted was on the people getting interviewed and then the final and third camera being used was a long shot having all of them in the shot. the first camera was at 0:04 then second camera was at 0:06 and the third camera was at 0:08. Multi camera was used to capture the moment quicker and simply easier to put together. There are both practical and aesthetic reasons to use multi camera to film the chat show

practical reasons contrast between studio and location environment this is because its more of an low key experience and it keeps the views watching and the second reason is multi camera simulation because you wouldn't expect a Hollywood actor like Mark wahlberg to get drunk and sit on the presenters lap at 8:27. They tend to use coverage of action to show the emotion of the person getting interview but as this chat show is quite funny they used the converge of action to mountain the audience interest fore example when Mark Wahlberg got up drunk and say on the presenter at 8:30.

Game Show:

Game shows such as Ninja Warrior they use a number of cameras to compose the multi camera production. With in the first minuet of the video you can see that already two cameras have been used one (0:45) to show the concentration of the man getting ready for the course and the other camera on the audience cheering for the competitor (0:46). The third camera was used at 0:51 taking the long shot before he starts to do the course. The fourth camera used was on the american that was on the players team cheering him on as he goes through the course at 2:30. The fifth camera was on the Japanese  team mate at 4:42 of the video they had a camera on the team mates to show there emotion's on when the person taking part fell down and then shoed the relief of the American because the compotation to tem was serious so they wanted to mountain the audience by creating that picture by the shot from the camera.
A production like this has to use multi camera because they want to cover all the action its like sports to mountain peoples interest they change the angle of different shots and create a story with this game show do the same because the people doing the course always say "I've trained my life to do this"
Practical reasons to this is that the views would stay and want to watch till the end because they making it interesting and cover all of the action

Talent Show:

Camera one long shot of the
audience and stage
Camera two. long and close ups
of the judges
Talent shows such as Britain's Got Talent need to use multi camera production instead of singles camera because when using single camera the the camera person may miss the action taking place on the stage for example Darcy Oake's performance on Britain's Got Talent used multi camera productions because they wanted to show the audience reaction to his magic trick as know one new how to do the trick. Another camera had to be used for the judges. The camera on the judges was there to see their reactions also and when they were asking what the performer was going to perform today for them. The other camera used was on Darcy him self using multi camera would record his whole performance but with single camera only parts of him performance would be shown. Another camera was also on the presenters of the show because at first both the presenters and Darcy had an conversation at the start and also to show the presenters reaction when Darcy performs the magic trick with the birds.
Britain's got talent use multi camera for aesthetic reasons is for covering all of the action taking place on the stage. for example when he made a bird at the start single camera would have not captured the moment unless the camera was placed on a crane at 1:25
Camera four Close up of the person doing the audition
Camera three of the presenters reactions
towards the performance

Magazine show:

Camera one long shot
of the interview showing
the audience as well
Magazine shows such as top gear use multi camera. Top gear use more that 3 cameras using them to get the shots needed for the studio part of the production.
In the studio of were the production was filmed I counted three main cameras being used the first camera was on the guest that was the person with the timed lap at 2:37 the second camera I counted was at 2:43 on the presenter of the show and the person asking the questions to the guest. The third camera being used was a long shot of the interview and showing the audience laughing at the joke made by the guest at 3:50. when the guest was in the car on the race track I counted 14 cameras on the track at each of the corner's and 2 cameras in the car showing his reaction. They have to use multi camera because as its a car show they are going to test the car on a track by putting the camera at every corner it covers the action taking place n the track but if the production was single camera but time the camera person got the third corner the lap would be over. They mainly use aesthetic reason for the multi camera production and that's for the coverage of action. For practical reason they use multi camera because the want to visual styles to look good and make the lap look good so they build up suspense when they revile him time.

Camera two. Close up
of the presenter
Camera three. Close up of
the person getting the interview
